Since I've been playing both at the same time, I think I have a pretty balanced view. Then I jumped right into 1.12.2.Īfter playing a few modern packs, I went back and tried some of the big 1.7.10 packs. 1.2.5 and earlier is all that I remember. I came back to Minecraft after many years away.

The ingots and runes are crafting ingredients for very late game stuff and seeds. I like the Botania magnet ring early in the game. I like the altars of Astral Sorcery but IMO AS is only in the pack to craft the Agriculture Seeds and the Rock Crystals you need for the Blood Magic Altar runes.īlood Magic items are only used as intermediate crafting ingredients PSI is only in the modpack for a single ingot to craft the ?ultimate? ingot (Bragging Rights ingredient). Only other use of a Twilight item is the Fiery Metal for the Advanced Metallurgic Fabricator which I can get from my mobfarm. Also didn't find any rare ores that helped me in the progression like in previous modpack version. Result: Didn't find the biome -> spawned the trophy myself. 2 weeks ago every evening I was exploring the Twilight Forrest for the 'Enchanted Twilight Forrest' biome because I was missing the last Trophy. A year ago the ore spawn in Twilight Forrest was much 'better' or more in my favor to progress in the mod pack. Twilight Forrest is only in the modpack to get the Trophies to craft the Bragging Right stuff. I skipped everything "Thaumcraft" by unlocking every research and spawning every Thaumcraft item via commands because it is Thaumcraft. I get my joy by automating all the crafting. I will 'finish' E2E by building the infra structure aka auto crafting with lots of 'creative help'. The game feels more grindy and unrewarding than the previous versions. The next iterations of the recipes in December probably demand a double compressed block of chaos shards to craft a furnace.Īdd the unrewarding loot crates (chiseled glass and wood.). This burned me out in only a few hours because the recipes got totally punishing compared to earlier versions like the 1.60s version of the modpack. IMO the best balanced/gated modpack I played was 'Age of Engineering'.
